The (FSA) has entered into a strategic partnership with the HORN International Institute for Strategic Studies by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Upper Hill Chambers, Nairobi. Led by Amb. Patrick Wamoto, the Academy seeks to strengthen cooperation in diplomatic and foreign policy training and research. The MoU establishes a framework for collaboration in education and training to enhance the professional capacity of foreign service officers while strengthening Kenya’s ability to effectively articulate and advance its national interests in the global arena. The partnership will prioritise the adoption of modern and innovative approaches to training professionals in foreign policy, communication skills, international relations, diplomatic studies and cultural studies. Dr. Hassan Khannenje, the Director of HORN International Institute for Strategic Studies, reaffirmed the Institute’s commitment to bridging the gap between academic research and diplomatic practice. He noted that the partnership will empower Kenya’s foreign policy community to anticipate and respond proactively to emerging geopolitical, economic and security challenges. The two institutions expressed confidence that the collaboration will contribute significantly to a more capable, knowledge-driven Kenyan Foreign Service while enhancing Kenya’s ability to articulate and advance its national interests effectively on the global stage. Mr. Ibrahim Mustafa, the Deputy Director General, Political and Strategic Partnerships, while representing the Principal Secretary for the State Department for Foreign Affairs, welcomed the collaboration between the two institutions, noting that the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs is committed to training and developing the capacity of its officers through partnerships with relevant institutions.
