  • The Principal Secretary State Department for Foreign Affairs Dr. A. Korir Sing’Oei, today addressed 58 newly recruited Foreign Service Cadets at the Foreign Service Academy in 316 Upper hill chambers.

The cadets are undergoing an intensive induction programme running from 4th June to 25th August 2025 which covers diplomacy, foreign policy, diaspora affairs, international law, regional and multilateral diplomacy, economic diplomacy, government operations, and national security, alongside essential soft skills such as grooming, emotional intelligence, digital literacy, and conflict resolution.

Dr. Sing’Oei congratulated the cadets and urged them to embrace innovation as a key element of modern diplomacy. He emphasized their important role in advancing Kenya’s foreign policy, especially diaspora engagement and consular services.

In his address, Ag. Director General Amb. Patrick S. Wamoto commended the cadets for their dedication and urged them to use their social media platforms responsibly and professionally to promote Kenya’s diplomatic image. He also highlighted that the foundation level of the Foreign Service Academy’s training curriculum had been officially rolled out with this cohort, marking a significant milestone in the Academy’s structured approach to diplomatic training.

Both leaders highlighted the need for discipline, ethical conduct, cultural intelligence, and commitment to Kenya’s values throughout their careers.
