Professor Patrick Maluki, Chairman of the Council of the Foreign Service Academy (FSA), held a liaison meeting with Ambassador Roeland Van De Geer of Diplomats Without Borders (DWB) at the FSA offices in Upper Hill Chambers, 15th floor.
Discussions centered on finalizing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the FSA and DWB regarding the training of Kenya’s foreign service personnel.
Both parties agreed to equip diplomats through sessions with the Institute of Security Studies (ISS) in South Africa, focusing on Africa’s economic future.
Additionally, the two agreed to seek collaborative funding opportunities for FSA and DWB to undertake mediation and environmental diplomacy programs while extending training for junior diplomats to ensure continuity of quality service.
The Academy committed to following up on the April 2025 training for Kenyan ambassadors, identifying curriculum gaps, and addressing them with updated modules aligned to emerging global diplomatic trends
Also present were Amb. Patrick Wamoto, Ag. DG Foreign Service Academy and Lynette Odondi, a lecturer at DDIS.
