The Foreign Service Academy, led by Ag. Director-General Amb. Patrick Wamoto today convened a virtual forum with Diplomats Without Borders, under the theme “Forecasting Africa’s Future in Relation to Agenda 2063.”
The meeting brought together over 90 participants, including diplomats from Kenya’s Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Department of Diplomacy and International Relations (UoN), and those from other African countries. The interactive dialogue focused on reviewing Africa’s development trajectory and the implementation of Agenda 2063, the African Union’s blueprint for inclusive and sustainable growth.
Discussions explored key impediments, emerging trends, and persistent challenges, including institutional bottlenecks, limited resource mobilization, political instability, and low digital adoption. Panellists also examined how climate action, youth empowerment, and innovation can accelerate progress.
Ambassador Wamoto underscored the importance of sustained engagement, stating, “The Foreign Service Academy remains committed to convening similar meetings that build capacity and provide a platform for vibrant dialogue among diplomats across the globe. These exchanges are critical in shaping informed and future-ready Diplomats equipped to navigate the complexities of a rapidly evolving global landscape.”
The Academy reaffirmed its role in supporting strategic diplomatic conversations that align with Africa’s collective vision under Agenda 2063.
