  • Boosting Diplomatic Finesse: OAG Officers Complete Protocol Training

In a strategic move to enhance professionalism and international engagement, the Foreign Service Academy has successfully concluded a five-day training on diplomatic protocol and official etiquette for 33 officers from the Office of the Auditor-General (OAG).

Held from May 12 to 16, 2025, the training was designed to sharpen the officers’ skills in managing official functions, representing the institution in high-level forums, and upholding Kenya’s image on the global stage.

This is the second cohort to undergo the training, following a similar session in February 2025.

Participants were taken through a series of practical modules including Kenya’s Foreign Policy 2024, effective communication, protocol procedures in public service, and personal grooming for official representation.

Amb. Patrick S. Wamoto, Acting Director General of the Foreign Service Academy, lauded the officers’ commitment during the closing ceremony, noting that diplomacy and protocol are no longer the preserve of career diplomats but vital skills for all public servants.

“As more government institutions engage with international partners, this knowledge is essential in fostering collaboration and projecting Kenya’s professionalism,” he stated.

The Academy continues to position itself as a hub for grooming well-rounded public officers ready to advance Kenya’s strategic interests on the global stage.
