Ambassador Patrick S. Wamoto, Ag. Director General of the Foreign Service Academy, today accompanied Dr. Korir Sing’Oei, Principal Secretary, State Department for Foreign Affairs, during a meeting with a delegation from the State University of New York (SUNY), led by Prof. Melur K. (Ram) Ramasubramanian, Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Provost.
The discussions centred on the SUNY Africa Initiative, a forward-looking, university-led effort aimed at strengthening academic engagement across the African continent.
The Initiative seeks to foster mutually beneficial partnerships in teaching, research, and innovation between SUNY institutions and African universities, with a focus on cutting-edge fields such as advanced manufacturing, robotics, artificial intelligence, semiconductor manufacturing, and sustainable energy.
The Ministry welcomes the opportunity to deepen this strategic partnership in support of Kenya’s higher education sector and to contribute meaningfully to the country’s broader national development agenda.
